Job Description
Child Nutrition Program Custodian (12 Month)
Date: July 1, 2016
Reports to: Director of Child Nutrition, Assistant Director of Child Nutrition, Child Nutrition Manager or Lead, Site Principal
Supervises: N/A
Job Goal: Keeps the district's school buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.
Employment Terms: 12 Months, 8 hours per day
7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M., exclusive of a lunch
Occasionally, special arrangements may be made with the
supervisor if the situation warrants. Supervisor approval is required
if the contract day varies.
FLSA Classification: Nonexempt
Evaluation: Annually by Director of Child Nutrition

Regular Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and finger to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climbs on to ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 lbs. such as salt and bulk furniture. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, scrubbing machines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As Needed / Ongoing:
- Maintains the cleanliness of all of the production and dining areas of the Campus Mart. This entails cleaning, mopping, and waxing.
- Cleans up spills in all Campus Mart areas.
- Cleans trash containers, elevator, and stairwell.
- Cleans tables.
- Dumps all trash containers throughout the entire lunch period.
- Works in dish room as needed.
- Cleans filters and vents at least once every two weeks.
- Helps when delivery trucks come in.
- Helps with pulls first thing in the mornings.
- Subs on the delivery truck as needed.
- Assists with catering as needed.
- Maintains building and grounds security in the building each school day.
- To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
