Job Goal:                     Keeps the district's school buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.

 

Employment Terms: 12 Months, 8 hours per day

                                           7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M., exclusive of a lunch

                                           Occasionally, special arrangements may be made with the      

                                           supervisor if the situation warrants. Supervisor approval is required

                                           if the contract day varies.      

 

FLSA Classification: Nonexempt

 

Evaluation:                 Annually by Director of Child Nutrition

Regular Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and finger to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climbs on to ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.

 

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 lbs. such as salt and bulk furniture. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, scrubbing machines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Helps unload delivery trucks.

 

  1. Puts up groceries in freezers, walk-ins, or pantries.

 

  1. Pulls items out of the freezer, walk-ins, and pantries for the cooks.

 

  1. Knows inventory, rotates stock, and keeps items put away and off of the floor.

 

  1. Completes inventories at the end of each and every month.

 

  1. Keeps menus to know what items are needed to be pulled and ready for use.

 

  1. Rotates all items by the dates.

 

  1. Makes room ahead of time for new items coming in on the trucks.

 

  1. Keeps freezers, walk-ins, and pantry areas clean. Removes all trash from floors, sweeps and mops areas regularly.

 

  1. Keeps loading dock clean;  clear of all trash, leaves and dirt. Sweeps and washes loading dock.

 

  1. Keeps low boy and carts clean.

 

  1. Brings pulls and return sheets and milk invoices to office.

 

  1. Keeps paper towels and soap dispensers full.

 

  1. Keeps trash cans clean; Washes out all cans at least once a week. This includes all trash cans, including; by the laundry, snack shop, serving lines and dishwasher. Helps with washing trash cans in the cafeteria.

 

  1. Tears down boxes and places in dumpster. Takes out all trash from the kitchen.

 

  1. Cleans and sanitizes wonder bar every week.

 

  1. After your lunch and until 11:15am, use time to finish cleaning and stocking.

During lunch you will be in the kitchen running the dishwasher, drying dishes and putting them away. If there is a full staff, you will be in the cafeteria taking out trash, wiping tables, cleaning up spills, and taking trays to the dishwasher.

 

  1. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
