Supervisor approval is required if the contract day varies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors and outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The employee may work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, and sprays and non-household dust. The employee may come in contact with blood and other infectious materials. T he employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally will work in a loud area. Maintains all safety and code requirements of the State, local and Board of Education guidelines. 2. Repairs and maintains all types of air conditioning, heaters, refrigeration units, and kitchen equipment. 3. Repairs and maintains gas, hot water, steam and oil boilers, and hot air furnace. 4. Rebuilds and repacks burned out boiler fireboxes. 5. Repairs and maintains air handlers, ventilators, cooling coils, and radiators along with other mechanical heating and ventilating equipment. 6. Monitors and coordinates control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperature. 7. Maintains and operates computerized energy management system. 8. Performs regular preventive maintenance and boiler water treatment programs for all heating and air conditioning equipment. 9. Installs and tests new equipment. 10. May be required to be on 24 hour call. 11. Accurately estimates project costs, orders and accounts for material and labor relation to assignments. 12. To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities. 13.
