Qualifications:            Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Special Education or related field.  

                                       CPI Certification

                                      

Job Goal:                      Provide support at the site and district level to ensure appropriate behavior modification interventions are implemented to maximize student learning.

 

Employment Terms: 10 month Contract

Generally - 7 Hour 20 Minute Day, Exclusive of a (30) Minute Duty Free Lunch

 

FLSA Classification:  Exempt

Evaluation:                  Annually by Site Principal

Regular Requirements:  Stand for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 100 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands and operate equipment; repetitive use of fingers and hands to operate equipment

 

Occasional Requirements:  Ability to administer CPR and First Aid

 

Visual Requirements:  Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements:  Adequate to exchange information

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Implements behavior modification techniques with students who have needs for behavior support at any site.
  2. Assists site principals and teachers with behavior modification interventions.
  3. Assists site CART Teams in designing appropriate interventions for students referred with behavioral deficiencies.
  4. Provides ideas and support with the development and implementation of student behavior plans.
  5. Monitors progress of student behavior plans goals.
  6. Complies with all Individualized Education Plans.
  7. Carries an IEP caseload and provides services as needed if employee has credentials.  (not required) 
  8. Uses formative and summative data to guide instruction and monitor progress
  9. Monitors student progress toward IEP goals.
  10. Monitors student behavior in areas outside of the classroom, during lunch, recess, bus time, general education classes, and school assemblies.
  11. Prepares and timely submits all required reports and evaluations for each assigned student.
  12. Completes all required special education paperwork in a timely manner to meet compliance deadlines if caseload is carried.  
  13. Attends and participates in all required meetings and conferences, including professional development and planning meetings.
  14. Maintains complete and accurate student records, including attendance, performance and discipline records.
  15. Provides professional and regular feedback to students, staff and parents, ensuring compliance with all laws and district policies and procedures.
  16. Regularly participates in appropriate professional development opportunities, Including behavior modification training/education.  
  17. Complies with all federal, state and local laws, and board policies and procedures.
  18. Utilizes professional behavior in all school-related interactions.
  19. Maintains contact with parents and/or students via phone or written communications.
  20. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
