Job Goal: Plan and implement therapeutic activities to assist special education students.

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students; lift/move up to 50 pounds
Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 100 pounds
Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and manages program implementation to meet the IEP goals.
- Provides training to the appropriate persons to carry over therapy goals in the school setting.
- Maintains therapy room and equipment.
- Implements program services which include: self-help, functional mobility, environmental adaptations/adaptive equipment, positioning, motor functions, sensory processing, provocation/vocational skills.
- Functions as a team member for MEEGs, IEPs and maintains contact with school, family, physicians, and agencies.
- Screens, evaluates, and reassesses to develop IEPs.
- Formulates PT policies and procedures.
- Schedules students for evaluation and treatment.
- Assigns and supervises caseload and responsibilities of the COTA.
- Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
