Qualifications:               High School Diploma or Equivalent

      One to Three Months Related Experience

                                               

Job Goal:                         Serves as secretary to the principal and as a liaison for the school.

 

Employment Terms:    12 Months, 8 hours per day

                                             7:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M., Exclusive of a lunch

                                             Occasionally, special arrangements may be made with the      

                                             supervisor if the situation warrants. Supervisor approval is required

                                             if the contract day varies.    

 

FLSA Classification:     Nonexempt

 

Evaluation:                     Annually by Building Principal

Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds

 

Occasional Requirements: Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 25 pounds

 

Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, and routes calls.

 

  1. Maintains school records and files for building, principal, and related requirements, including official attendance records.

 

  1. Distributes mail.

 

  1. Greets visitors pleasantly.

 

  1. Types, prepares, distributes, files records/reports, correspondence, mailings etc. related to building functions and principal needs.

 

  1. Orientates substitute teachers.

 

  1. Processes attendance/payroll for the building staff.

 

  1. Provides appropriate first aid needs.

 

  1. Assists principal in scheduling use of building.

 

  1. Orders, processes, and maintains materials and equipment.

 

  1. Serves as confidential secretary to the principal.

 

  1. Administers medication according to policy and regulations.

 

  1. Operates standard office equipment.

 

  1. Attends in-service training as stipulated by district.

 

  1. Distributes community/district flyers upon approval from the Executive Director of Operations.

 

  1. Processes activity/general fund expenditures and maintains records.

 

  1. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
