E-Sports Coach

Reports to:                    Building Principal

 

Supervises:                   Participating Students, Assigned Assistant Coaches and Volunteers 

 

Qualifications:                 Experience in video game competition

                                        Experience in Coaching (preferred)

                                        Courses in Coaching Theory (preferred)

                                                                                   

Job Goal:                        Promote excellent athletic performance in a safe and sportsmanlike manner. To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

 

 

Employment Terms:  10 month 

 

FLSA Classification:   Exempt

 

Evaluation:                   Annually by Building Principal

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; run, walk, jump; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds

 

Occasional Requirements: Ability to administer CPR

 

Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Assists with the following:

 

  1. Consults with school principal to set practice and competition schedules and participation rules.  Systematically disseminate the information to players and parents.

 

  1. Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.

 

  1. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.

 

  1. Arrives first and leaves last to practices and competitions.

 

  1. Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season.

 

  1. Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.

 

  1. Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport.

 

  1. Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in this sport and is consistent in establishing criteria for eligibility in competition.

 

 

  1. Promptly notifies the principal of any injuries or other significant incidents.

 

  1. Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.

 

  1. Supervises the use of assigned equipment, facilities, etc. and ensure that it is properly locked when not in use.

 

  1. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.

 

  1. Coordinates attendance and related travel when necessary.

 

 

  1. Complies with all federal, state and local laws, and board policies and procedures.

 

  1. Utilizes professional behavior in all school related interactions.

 

  1. Develops a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and the general public about the athletic program.

 

  1. To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
