Computer Technician
Date: July 1, 2016
Reports to: Director of Technology
Supervises: N/A
Qualifications: High School Degree or Equivalent
At Least (1) Year Experience or Training with Micro-computers
and Networked Computers
Knowledge of Compaq Service Policies and Guidelines
Familiarity with Macintosh/Apple Product Repair
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 3.x, 95 and NT Workstation
Basic Knowledge of Novell Products under IPX and TCP/IP; Knowledge of Basic Networking Principals and Hardware
Job Goal: Development and support of computer software and hardware including reports, job processing cycles and distribution of system over district network.
Employment Terms: 12 Months, 8 hours per day
7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. with a lunch. Occasionally, special
arrangements may be made with the supervisor if the situation
warrants. Supervisor approval is required if the contract day varies

Evaluation: Annually by Director of Technology

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; twist at the
neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl;
reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and
horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds; handle objects and tools
with hands and operate equipment; repetitive use of fingers and
hands to operate equipment
Occasional Requirements: Ability to administer CPR
Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides telephone and onsite technical support.
- Provides onsite maintenance and repairs for IBM compatible PCs.
- Provides onsite maintenance and repairs for Macintosh/Apple systems.
- Maintains current equipment inventory.
- Maintains preventative maintenance records.
- Provides setup services for computer equipment.
- Installs software.
- Reimages machines.
- To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
