Reports to:                Building Principal

 

Supervises:                 Students

 

Qualifications:           48 Hours College Credit OR Passing Score on Paraprofessional Test

                                      High School Diploma or Equivalent

                                      Previous Experience Working With Students     

                                                             

Job Goal:                     Supervises and monitors students and their completion of assignments while assigned to in-school detention.

 

 

Employment Terms: 9 Month Contract, 7.25 Hours per Day, Exclusive of a Lunch

                                     

FLSA Classification: Nonexempt

Evaluation:                 Annually by Building Principal

Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds

 

Occasional Requirements: Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 25 pounds

 

Visual Requirements:  Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements:  Adequate to exchange information

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Note - these duties vary based upon the individual student needs and Individualized Education Plans.  Typical duties may include:

 

  1. Works under the direction of teachers and administrators to ensure that students have assignments and necessary materials to complete their work.

 

  1. Monitors students’ completion of assignments.

 

  1. Checks completed assignments against what was requested by the teacher.

 

  1. Tracks assignment completion.

 

  1. Responsible for the welfare and safety of students.

 

  1. Ensures compliance with all school rules, procedures, and policies.

 

  1. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
